Product Specific Information
- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1 mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Suggested positive controls: liver, hepatocellular carcinoma, or ovarian carcinoma.
Target Information
Claudin-1 is a member of the transmembrane protein family claudins located in cell-cell tight junctions. It acts as a co-receptor for HCV entry into hepatic cells and is abundant in luminal epithelial sheets, maintaining epithelial cell polarity. Claudin-1 is expressed in various tissues such as bladder, fallopian tube, liver, pancreas, prostate, and skin.
