Target Information
Rho-related GTP-binding protein (RhoB) mediates apoptosis in neoplastically transformed cells following DNA damage. Although not essential for development, it influences cell adhesion and growth factor signaling in transformed cells. RhoB targets PKN1 to endosomes and is involved in EGF receptor trafficking from late endosomes to lysosomes. It also contributes to AKT1/AKT stability and nuclear trafficking, promoting endothelial cell survival during vascular development. RhoB acts as a tumor suppressor—its deletion can lead to tumor formation.
