Product Specific Information

The 53-2.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains (e.g., BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58, SJL).
Cells from CD90.1-expressing strains (e.g., PL, AKR) do not stain with 53-2.1.
CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and T-cell signal transduction.

• Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily.
It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts.
CD90.2 participates in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions, including synaptogenesis.
It is an 18 kDa plasma membrane antigen expressed by hematopoietic cells and neurons across species, also found in connective tissue, fibroblast, stromal, and tumor endothelial cell lines.
In mice, CD90.2 is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
