Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to various human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays critical roles in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, kidney development) and adult processes (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET signaling is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it an important target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
