Target Information
Alpha-1-B glycoprotein (A1BG) is a plasma protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily with no known biological function. The human A1BG (~63 kDa) consists of a single polypeptide chain of 474 amino acids containing four glucosamine oligosaccharides and five intrachain disulfide bonds. It comprises five repeating structural domains, each with about 95 amino acids and one disulfide bond. Recently, human cysteine-rich secretory protein 3 (CRISP-3) was identified as a binding partner of A1BG, suggesting that the A1BG–CRISP-3 complex may protect against harmful effects of free CRISP-3 in circulation.
