Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Glut-2 antibody is directed against Glut2 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Glut2 from mouse and rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.
Target Information
Glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) is an integral plasma membrane glycoprotein expressed in the liver, pancreatic islet beta cells, intestine, and kidney epithelium.
It mediates facilitated bidirectional glucose transport. Due to its low affinity for glucose, GLUT2 is suggested to function as a glucose sensor.
Mutations in the gene encoding this protein cause Fanconi-Bickel syndrome.
