This clone recognizes the α-like subunit, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
This monoclonal antibody is useful for:

Target Information

CD103 (ITGAE, Integrin alpha E) is expressed on mucosa-associated T lymphocytes, activated cells, and a subset of TGF beta-1 cells.
It includes a 150 kDa alpha chain and a 120 kDa beta chain, expressed by 0.5–2% of resting lymphocytes in peripheral blood and lymphoid organs.
CD103 stains a few bone marrow cells and rarely peripheral blood lymphocytes.
It belongs to the integrin family, composed of alpha and beta subunits forming heterodimeric membrane proteins.
ITGAE encodes an I-domain-containing alpha integrin that undergoes post-translational cleavage yielding disulfide-linked heavy and light chains.
In combination with beta 7 integrin, CD103 forms the E-cadherin-binding integrin known as human mucosal lymphocyte-1 antigen.
CD103 is preferentially expressed in intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) and may serve as an accessory molecule for IEL activation.
Diseases associated with CD103 dysfunction include hairy cell leukemia and splenic marginal zone lymphoma.
