MA1-70030 detects CD26 in rat samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry (frozen sections), and Western blot procedures.
The immunogen is thoracic duct lymphocytes from a mesenteric lymphodectomised rat.

Target Information

CD26 (dipeptidyl peptidase IV, DPP IV; adenosine deaminase binding protein) is a homodimeric atypical serine protease of the prolyl oligopeptidase family.
It is expressed on lymphocytes and upregulated during T-cell activation, also found on activated B cells, NK cells, and epithelial tissues.
CD26 participates in T-cell activation, cell adhesion to extracellular matrix (fibronectin, collagens), and HIV infection.
It is identical to adenosine deaminase complexing protein-2 and the T-cell activation antigen CD26.
CD26 is a membrane glycoprotein and serine exopeptidase that cleaves X-proline dipeptides from the N-terminus of polypeptides.
Alterations in CD26 activity are linked to malignant transformation, with enzymatic activity increasing with tumor grade.
Expression changes are observed in monocytes and CD4+ T cells in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
