Target Information
The Ku protein is a heterodimer composed of 70 kDa and 80 kDa subunits (Ku70/Ku80), also known as ATP-dependent DNA helicase II or DNA repair protein XRCC5.
Ku acts as the DNA-binding component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase complex and participates in DNA double-strand break repair via non-homologous end joining and V(D)J recombination.
Defects in this gene can lead to impaired DNA repair and altered radiosensitivity.
