Product Specific Information

• Source: Monoclonal antibody obtained by fusing the P3-X63-Ag8 mouse myeloma cell line with spleen cells of Wistar rat immunized with mouse teratocarcinoma cell line F9.
• Specificity: Specifically reacts with mouse E-cadherin and inhibits E-cadherin-dependent cell-cell contact.
• Cross Reactivity: Does not react with human, bovine, chicken, or dog E-cadherin.
• Storage:
  • 4°C without preservative
  • Stock solution (2.0 mg/mL) stored at -20°C for 1 year or at 4°C for 6 months with 0.1% sodium azide
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles
• Reconstitution:
  • Dissolve lyophilized antibody in 50 µL distilled water (final concentration: 2.0 mg/mL)
  • For short-term use, dissolve directly in ≥500 µL dilution solution
  • Maintain ≥2.0 mg/mL concentration for stability
  • Reconstituted solution should contain 0.1% sodium azide when stored at 4°C

Target Information

E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin) is a classical cadherin from the calcium-dependent adhesion protein superfamily. It is a glycoprotein with five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail.
Mutations are associated with gastric, breast, colorectal, thyroid, and ovarian cancers. Loss of E-cadherin function promotes cancer progression by increasing proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.
E-cadherin mediates cell-cell adhesion, maintains tissue integrity, and plays a key role in epithelial tissue architecture. In humans, it is encoded by the CDH1 gene on chromosome 16.
