Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a defined population of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability common in polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Glutathione peroxidases (GPXs) are enzymes that catalyze the reduction of hydrogen and organic peroxides by glutathione. Multiple isoforms exist, differing in structure and localization:

• GPX1 (cGPx): Classical cytosolic/mitochondrial, selenium-dependent enzyme.
• GPX2 (GI-GPx): Expressed in gastrointestinal epithelium.
• GPX3 (pGPx): Extracellular, mainly expressed by the kidney and secreted into circulation.
• GPX4 (PH-GPx): Reduces hydroperoxides in membranes and lipoproteins.

All mammalian GPX family members, except for GPX3 (Cys-containing) and GPX5 (epididymis-specific), contain selenocysteine at their active site.
