Target Information

HLA-DMB (major histocompatibility complex, class II, DM beta), also known as D6S221E, RING7, HLA-DM histocompatibility type, beta chain, HLADMB or RING7, is a protein encoded by the HLA-DMB gene located on chromosome 6p21.32.
HLA-DMB is part of the HLA class II beta chain paralogues. This class II molecule forms a heterodimer with an alpha (DMA) and a beta (DMB) chain, both membrane-anchored and located in intracellular vesicles.

DM plays a central role in peptide loading of MHC class II molecules by facilitating release of CLIP (class II-associated invariant chain peptide) from the peptide binding site.
Class II molecules are expressed in antigen-presenting cells. The beta chain has a molecular weight of approximately 26–28 kDa and contains 6 exons.
HLA-DMA and -DMB encode subunits of a functional heterodimer critical for class II antigen presentation.

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in Immunopeptidomics, aiding in the identification and characterization of neoantigens through LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry).
