Target Information

HLA-DMB (major histocompatibility complex, class II, DM beta), also known as D6S221E, RING7, HLA-DM histocompatibility type, beta chain, HLADMB or RING7, is a protein encoded by the HLA-DMB gene in humans, located on chromosome 6p21.32.
HLA-DMB belongs to the HLA class II beta chain paralogues and forms a heterodimer with an alpha (DMA) chain, both membrane-anchored and located in intracellular vesicles.

This molecule plays a central role in peptide loading of MHC class II molecules by releasing the CLIP (class II-associated invariant chain peptide) molecule from the peptide-binding site.
Class II molecules are expressed in antigen-presenting cells. The beta chain is approximately 26–28 kDa and its gene contains 6 exons.
HLA-DMA and HLA-DMB encode subunits of a heterodimer critical for the class II antigen presentation pathway.

HLA and MHC antibodies are important in Immunopeptidomics, aiding identification and characterization of neoantigens via high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.
