Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

In intact cells, DNA associates with histones and other nuclear proteins to form chromatin. Chromatin remodeling is essential for transcriptional regulation, with histone acetylation serving as a key mechanism. Acetylation of lysine residues in histone tails induces structural changes that enhance DNA accessibility to transcription factors.
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) counteract this process and are linked to transcriptional silencing. The HDAC family includes HDAC1–9. HDAC9 and its isoform HDAC9a differ by 132 amino acids but both retain catalytic activity and repress myocyte enhancer-binding factor 2-mediated transcription. HDAC9 and HDAC9a are expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, and pancreas.
