GPR17은 희소돌기아교세포 분화 및 중추신경계의 수초화 조절에 관여하는 orphan G protein-coupled receptor입니다.
이 단백질은 뇌, 신장, 심장 및 제대정맥 내피세포에서 발현되며, uracil nucleotides와 cysteinyl leukotrienes에 대해 이중 특이성을 가지며 G(i)를 통해 adenylyl cyclase 억제 신호를 전달합니다.
허혈 후 뉴클레오타이드 및 cysteinyl leukotrienes에 의한 뇌 손상 매개에 관여할 수 있습니다.
