Target Information
HAAO (3-Hydroxyanthranilate 3,4-dioxygenase)는 비헴 철을 포함하는 세포질 내 단량체 효소로, 트립토판 대사에 관여합니다. 간과 신장 등 말초 조직에 널리 분포하며, 중추신경계에는 소량 존재합니다.
이 효소는 3-하이드록시아트라닐산으로부터 퀴놀린산(QUIN)을 합성하며, QUIN은 NMDA 수용체를 활성화하여 신경독성을 유발할 수 있습니다.
HAAO는 신경학적 및 염증성 질환의 병태생리에 관여할 가능성이 있으며, 최근 연구에서는 난소암 탐지용 바이오마커 후보로 제시되었습니다.
