Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
UCN2 (Urocortin 2) is a protein-coding gene associated with body mass index quantitative trait locus 11. Related pathways include signaling by GPCR and presynaptic function of kainate receptors. Gene Ontology annotations indicate signaling receptor binding and G protein-coupled receptor binding.
UCN2 is a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family and is structurally related to the CRF gene. The encoded product acts as an endogenous ligand for CRF type 2 receptors and may mediate stress effects on appetite in the brain. Despite its name, UCN2 shares no sequence similarity with urotensin II.
