Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 80M2 recognizes the extracellular part of membrane-bound TNF-RII as well as the soluble form generated by proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain.
This antibody is a non-agonistic receptor-modulating antibody that enhances in vitro TNF-alpha responses by increasing the affinity of the soluble form of TNF-alpha for TNF-RII.
Target Information
TNFR2 (tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 1B) is a receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha.
The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. TNFR2 mediates most metabolic effects of TNF-alpha.
