Target Information
CA125 determinant is present on a high molecular weight, mucin-like glycoprotein. It is expressed in tissues derived from coelomic and Müllerian epithelium, including pleura, pericardium, and peritoneum. In adults, expression is found in epithelial cells of fallopian tube, endometrium, endocervix, pancreas, colon, gall bladder, stomach, kidney, apocrine sweat gland, and mammary gland.
It is also detected in mesothelial cell linings and ovarian tumors of serous, endometrioid, or clear cell types, as well as adenocarcinomas of Müllerian origin.
