Description:
The Psel.KO2.3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD62P (P-selectin, GMP-140), a 140-kDa cell adhesion molecule inducible on endothelial cells and platelets. During inflammation, CD62P mediates adhesion of monocytes and neutrophils to activated platelets and leukocyte rolling on endothelial cells. The major ligand for CD62P on neutrophils is P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1). This antibody recognizes a conserved epitope across several species (mouse, human, rat) and does not block cell adhesion.

Flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometry on thrombin-activated human platelets. Use ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information

P-selectin (Selectin P, GMP-140, LECAM3, CD62 antigen-like family member):
A 140 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein regulating cell rolling. Stored in Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells and α-granules of platelets, it translocates to the surface upon activation by thrombin, histamine, complement 5a, Ca²⁺ ionophores, or ADP. P-selectin mediates interactions between activated endothelial cells or platelets and leukocytes. It functions as a calcium-dependent receptor binding sialylated Lewis blood group antigens on neutrophils and monocytes. Involved in inflammation, atherogenesis, thrombosis, and tissue injury. Clinically, used to distinguish heparin-induced thrombocytopenia with/without thrombosis.
