Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45628 was sufficient for detection of GluA1/GluR1 in 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate using colorimetric immunoblot analysis with goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 100 kDa.
  • Does not cross-react with GluR2.
  • Formerly sold as clone S355-1.

Target Information

GluR1 (glutamate receptor 1) is an ionotropic glutamate receptor. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of L-glutamate induces a conformational change that opens the cation channel, converting the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state. In the presence of CACNG4, CACNG7, or CACNG8, GluR1 shows resensitization characterized by delayed current flux accumulation upon continued glutamate application.
