Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45858 was sufficient for detection of 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal in 1 µg of 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal-BSA conjugate by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Specific for 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal. Slight cross-reactivity with 4-Hydroxynonenal. Does not cross-react with Acrolein, Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, Malondialdehyde, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.
Target Information
4-Hydroxynonenal (4-HNE, C9H16O2) is an alpha,beta-unsaturated hydroxyalkenal produced by lipid peroxidation in cells. It is the primary alpha,beta-unsaturated hydroxyalkenal formed during this process and is widely used as a biomarker for oxidative stress.
