Human IL-1 beta shares 78.3% and 77.6% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat IL-1 beta, respectively.
Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 µg/mL.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into an active 17 kDa protein upon inflammasome activation.
IL-1β signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, which are shared with IL-1α, and its activity can be modulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA).
This cytokine plays a key role in innate host defense, triggering production of other proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses.
Elevated IL-1β levels are associated with chronic inflammatory conditions, and IL-1β neutralizing antibodies have potential therapeutic value.
