SERCA2 ATPase는 근육 세포의 근소포체 또는 소포체 내에 위치한 칼슘 펌프로, ATP 가수분해를 통해 세포질 내 칼슘을 근소포체 내강으로 이동시켜 근수축 및 이완 주기를 조절합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 피부 세포 간 부착 손실과 비정상적인 각질화를 특징으로 하는 상염색체 우성 피부 질환인 Darier-White disease(keratosis follicularis)를 유발할 수 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 다양한 isoform을 생성합니다.
