Product Specific Information

Description:
The HIP1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD42b molecule, a 135 kDa transmembrane protein also known as platelet gpIb.

Applications Reported:
HIP1 antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human platelets. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor™ 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with the blue laser (488 nm). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD42b is a platelet activation marker involved in coagulation and platelet aggregation. It forms part of the GPIb-IX-V receptor complex, which mediates platelet adhesion to thrombogenic surfaces via interaction with von Willebrand factor (VWF) and other molecules.
CD42b is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes in bone marrow. Mutations in CD42b are associated with Bernard-Soulier syndrome and platelet-type von Willebrand disease.
