PEP-0172 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20053.
Target Information
TLR7 is a highly conserved membrane protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, containing 27 leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a TIR domain. It plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity.
TLR7 is activated by single-stranded RNA viruses such as influenza virus and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). It is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen, and is located near TLR8.
TLR7 functions via MyD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappaB activation, cytokine secretion, and inflammatory responses. It recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediates cytokine production necessary for effective immunity.
