This peptide corresponds to 14 amino acids from the carboxy terminus of human TRIM5δ.
PEP-0167 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20048.
Target Information
TRIM5 is a member of a broad family of proteins defined by the presence of a tripartite motif containing a RING domain, a B-box type 1, and a B-box type 2, followed by a coiled-coil region.
TRIM5 has five alternately spliced isoforms, with the longest being the alpha variant that includes a carboxy-terminal B30.2 (SPRY) domain. Expression of TRIM5α variants from humans, rhesus monkeys, and African green monkeys confers resistance to various retroviruses including HIV-1, with differing efficiencies.
The TRIM5δ isoform colocalizes with topoisomerase I-interacting proteins BTBD1 and BTBD2 in cytoplasmic bodies, serving as a scaffold for BTBD protein assembly. It also exhibits autoubiquitination activity in a RING finger- and UbcH5B-dependent manner.
