MA1-43027 detects SPARC in human, rat, and bovine samples.
It has been successfully used in radioimmunoassays, Western blot, ELISA, and immunohistochemistry applications.
This antibody was derived from human platelet osteonectin.
Target Information
SPARC gene encodes a cysteine-rich acidic matrix-associated protein.
The encoded protein is required for collagen in bone to become calcified and is involved in extracellular matrix synthesis and cell shape modulation.
It has been associated with tumor suppression as well as metastasis due to its role in promoting changes in cell shape that facilitate tumor cell invasion.
Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
