Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 26-2F recognizes human angiogenin, a secreted ribonuclease important for angiogenesis, cell proliferation, and survival. Under stress, angiogenin hydrolyzes cellular tRNA to modulate translation and promote survival. In cancer cells, it translocates to the nucleus to stimulate rRNA transcription, enhancing protein synthesis and cell growth. Angiogenin is upregulated in several cancers (breast, prostate, cervical, colorectal, lymphoma, melanoma) and contributes to motor neuron survival. Depletion is observed in neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS and Parkinson’s disease.
This antibody exhibits both in vivo and in vitro neutralizing activity.
Applications Reported: Cytokine neutralization, immunoprecipitation, IHC (frozen and paraffin), ELISA, immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested: IHC of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue using low/high pH antigen retrieval at ≤20 µg/mL. Titrate for optimal performance.

Angiogenin (ANG or ANG I) is a tRNA-specific ribonuclease involved in neovascularization and tumor development. It interacts with endothelial actin, affecting cytoskeletal dynamics. Mutations in ANG are linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 9 (ALS9), connecting ALS and Parkinson’s disease.
