The H44 antibody reacts with the interleukin-18 receptor alpha chain (IL-18Ra), also known as IL-1Rrp, a member of the IL-1 receptor family. IL-18R alpha is expressed on Th1 cells, NK cell subsets, neutrophils, and IL-12-stimulated tonsillar B cells.
By itself, IL-18R alpha binds IL-18 with low affinity; when complexed with IL-18R beta, it binds IL-18 with high affinity. The IL-18/IL-18R complex plays a key role in innate and autoimmune immune responses.
Applications Reported: H44 has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis on peripheral blood cells and granulocytes. Use 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). The number of cells can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information
IL18R1 is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin-1 receptor family. It specifically binds interleukin-18 (IL-18) and is essential for IL-18-mediated signal transduction. IFN-α and IL-12 induce expression of this receptor in NK and T cells.
The IL18R1 gene forms a cluster on chromosome 2q with IL1R2, IL1R1, ILRL2 (IL-1Rrp2), and IL1RL1 (T1/ST2).
