Product Specific Information

This SPRCL5 monoclonal antibody reacts with Mouse CD185 (CXCR5), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1). CXCR5 is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor originally identified in Burkitt’s lymphoma. It is expressed on B cells, CD4+ T cells (excluding Th1 and Th2), and a subset of memory (CD45RO+) T cells.

CXCR5+ circulating T cells migrate to lymph nodes via CCR7 and CD62L expression. In tonsil tissue, CXCR5 is expressed on nearly all CD4+ cells and activation markers such as CD69 and ICOS, supporting their role in B cell help and antibody production. CXCR5 is a key marker of follicular helper T cells, mediating T cell migration into germinal center B cell follicles in response to CXCL13.

• Fixation note: SPRCL5 does not recognize formaldehyde-fixed epitopes; staining should be performed prior to fixation.

• Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Use ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize by titration.

Target Information

CXCR5 (C-X-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5, CD185) or Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1) is a G protein-coupled receptor for chemokine BLC. It is specifically expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma and lymphatic tissues such as lymph node follicles and spleen. CXCR5 plays a critical role in B cell migration and is expressed in various tissues including blood, bone marrow, brain, liver, lymph node, skin, spleen, stomach, and tonsil.

CXCR5 belongs to the GPCR family, characterized by seven transmembrane helices and activation through ligand binding. GPCRs are key targets in pharmacological research, with drugs such as Zyprexa and Claritin developed as GPCR-targeted therapeutics.
