Description:
The 4H11 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD34 (mucosialin), a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on hematopoietic progenitors, mesenchymal stem cells, some tumor cell lines, and vascular endothelia. CD34 epitopes are classified into classes I–III; 4H11 belongs to class III, reacting with a protein epitope.

• Functional inhibition of CD34+ cell lines (e.g., MOLM-9, JURL-MK1, HEL)

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of TF-1 cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titer should be determined experimentally.

Target Information

CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric surface protein (111–115 kDa) expressed on various stem cell populations. It functions as a stem cell marker and may regulate adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation of hematopoietic progenitors. CD34 likely mediates cell–matrix or cell–stromal interactions and may serve as a scaffold for glycan attachment, supporting selectin binding. The cytoplasmic domain can be phosphorylated by protein kinase C, suggesting a signaling role. CD34 dysfunction is linked to diseases such as dermatofibrosarcoma and neurofibroma.
