Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer periods, store small aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
Epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) are amiloride-sensitive members of the degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (Deg/ENaC) superfamily of ion channels.
These channels share structural similarity, possessing two short intracellular termini, two transmembrane segments, and a large extracellular loop with a conserved cysteine-rich region.
ENaC has three homologous isoforms (α, β, γ) and plays a vital role in sodium and fluid balance across epithelial tissues such as kidney, lung, and colon.
ENaC also mediates aldosterone-dependent sodium reabsorption in the distal nephron, contributing to blood pressure regulation.
Gain-of-function mutations in β- or γ-ENaC can cause severe arterial hypertension (Liddle’s syndrome), while loss-of-function mutations in α- or β-ENaC can lead to pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA-1).
