This antibody is predicted to react with canine, mouse, porcine, and rabbit based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is thyroid tissue.

Target Information

Thyroid hormone receptors (TR), also known as c-erbA-2, are ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to hormone response elements after activation by thyroid hormones.
Thyroid hormones regulate metabolic processes, growth, and development by modulating gene expression for growth hormone, malic enzyme, and hepatic proteins.
There are two forms of TR: TR alpha (chromosome 17) and TR beta (chromosome 3). Each has two isoforms (TRα-1, TRα-2 and TRβ-1, TRβ-2).
TRα-1 and TRα-2 share identical sequences up to amino acid 370, where they diverge. TRα-2, which does not bind T3, acts as a strong negative regulator of the functional TR.
The corresponding gene for thyroid hormone receptor beta-1 is NR1A2.
