Target Information
ACKR1 (also known as DARC) is an atypical chemokine receptor that regulates chemokine levels and localization via high-affinity binding without classical signal transduction.
It acts as a chemokine-scavenging receptor, interacting with inflammatory chemokines from both CXC and CC subfamilies, but not with homeostatic chemokines.
ACKR1 also serves as a receptor for chemokines such as CCL2, CCL5, CCL7, CCL11, CCL13, CCL14, CCL17, CXCL5, CXCL6, CXCL8 (IL8), CXCL11, GRO, RANTES, MCP-1, TARC, and for malaria parasites P. vivax and P. knowlesi.
