This antibody detects endogenous levels of total KIR2DL4.
Target Information
CD158d / KIR2DL4 is a member of the KIR family that shares structural features with both activating and inhibitory receptors, potentially mediating different functions depending on context.
It contains a cytoplasmic ITIM domain suggesting inhibitory function, but also a transmembrane domain similar to activating KIRs.
CD158d acts as an inhibitory receptor for peripheral and uterine NK cells; however, its ligation with soluble monoclonal antibodies (unlike immobilized ones) can activate IFN-gamma secretion.
It binds both the membrane-bound and soluble forms of its ligand HLA-G.
