Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs upon binding of the fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand, inducing homodimerization and autophosphorylation. The activated receptor phosphorylates multiple cytoplasmic effectors involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Mutations causing constitutive activation of this receptor are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
