Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous constituents of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminin receptor 1 (RPSA) is a high-affinity, non-integrin laminin-binding protein known as 67 kD laminin receptor or 37 kD precursor (37LRP). Its amino acid sequence is highly conserved, indicating a critical biological role. Elevated expression has been observed in colon carcinoma and lung cancer cells, correlating with invasive and metastatic phenotypes. Multiple pseudogenes exist, likely from retropositional events. Two alternatively spliced variants encode the same protein.
