Product Specific Information

The mShad150 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD150, a ~70 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein also known as Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule (SLAM). CD150 is expressed by T cells (especially Th1) and B cells, and is rapidly upregulated upon activation. It is also found on immature thymocytes and dendritic cells.

Signaling through SLAM in T cells induces proliferation and enhances interferon-gamma response. SLAM also facilitates adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting cells.
The mShad150 antibody has been reported to stain the CD150+CD244-CD48-CD41- population of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Information:

  • Excitation: 405 nm (Violet Laser)
  • Emission: 436 nm
  • Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent
  • Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

CD150 (SLAM, Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule) is a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily involved in T cell stimulation. It is constitutively expressed on peripheral blood memory T cells, T cell clones, immature thymocytes, and some B cells, and is rapidly induced on naive T cells after activation.

Activated B cells express membrane-bound, soluble, and cytoplasmic isoforms of SLAM. SLAM-SLAM interactions enhance B cell expansion and differentiation. CD150 also acts as a receptor for the measles virus and interacts with SH2D1A and PTPN11. Mutations in the CD150 gene may be associated with X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP).
