Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Formalin-fixed tissue staining requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
B7-H4 (also known as B7x, VTCN1) is a costimulatory protein functioning as a negative regulator of T-cell mediated immunity.
It delivers inhibitory signals to T-cells, preventing proliferation, cell cycle progression, and interleukin-2 production.
B7-H4 is expressed on activated T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells, and aberrant expression is associated with lung, breast, and ovarian cancers.
Overexpression may enable tumor cells to suppress T-cell immunity, facilitating tumor progression.
VTCN1 may serve as a biomarker for early detection of ovarian cancer and renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
