Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as molecular scaffolds for multiprotein complex assembly at specialized regions of the plasma membrane.
It is also part of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD).
This protein shares a similar domain structure with CARD14 and interacts specifically with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation. When expressed, it activates NF-kappaB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
