Target Information

ARHGEF11 is a 1527 amino acid protein featuring tandem dbl homology and pleckstrin homology domains, a PDZ domain, two proline-rich sequences, and a regulatory G protein-signaling (RGS) sequence.
It functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RhoA GTPase, but not for RAC1 or CDC42, and as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for GNA12 and GNA13.
ARHGEF11 forms complexes with G proteins and mediates Rho-dependent signaling for neurite retraction. It enhances glutamate transport fourfold by interacting with EAAT4 and modulating uptake activity and perisynaptic distribution at glutamatergic synapses.
Overexpression induces actin cytoskeleton reorganization, membrane ruffling, and filopodia formation. It is ubiquitously expressed in brain, lung, liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle.
