- Antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended before immunostaining paraffin tissues.
- Suggested positive control: HuH7 hepatocarcinoma cell extracts, antigen standard for ATP7B (transient overexpression lysate).
Target Information
ATP7B is a member of the P-type cation transport ATPase family. It encodes a protein with multiple membrane-spanning domains, an ATPase consensus sequence, a hinge domain, a phosphorylation site, and at least two copper-binding sites.
This protein functions as a monomer, exporting copper from cells, including hepatic copper efflux into bile.
Alternate splice variants with distinct localizations have been identified, and mutations in ATP7B are associated with Wilson disease (WD).
