Product Specific Information

The 8A7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human BAFF receptor (B lymphocyte stimulator receptor), expressed on B cells. The ligand BAFF (B cell-activating factor of the TNF family) is a B cell survival factor that regulates CD21/35 and CD23 expression. Interaction with its receptor increases CD21/35 and CD23 expression, while receptor blockade down-modulates expression.

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 13C (TNFRSF13C), also known as BAFFR, is encoded by the TNFRSF13C gene on chromosome 22q13.1–q13.31. It encodes a 184-amino-acid transmembrane protein with 56% identity to the mouse protein. BAFF enhances B-cell survival and regulates peripheral B-cell populations. It plays a crucial role in B cell development and can signal through receptors other than BCMA.
