Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. Binding of HSV glycoprotein D (gD) to TNFRSF14 facilitates viral entry. The cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members to mediate immune signal transduction. Activation of TNFRSF14 in T cells enhances proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though not all are fully characterized.
