Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. It functions as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry by binding to the viral envelope glycoprotein D (gD). The cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. Activation in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, enhancing CTL-mediated tumor immunity. TNFRSF14 may serve as a potential target for modulating immune responses. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
