Product Specific Information
This antibody was cross-adsorbed to both phospho-tyrosine coupled to agarose and to dephosphorylated gamma-Catenin (Tyr-550) peptide before affinity purification using phospho-gamma-Catenin (Tyr-550) peptide (without carrier).
The antibody detects an 84 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of gamma-Catenin on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of A431 and Hct116 src transformed cells treated with pervanadate (1 mM for 30 min), but not in control cells.
Target Information
JUP is a major cytoplasmic protein which is the only known constituent common to submembranous plaques of both desmosomes and intermediate junctions.
This protein forms distinct complexes with cadherins and desmosomal cadherins and is a member of the catenin family since it contains a distinct repeating amino acid motif called the armadillo repeat.
