Target Information
NEK2는 세포 주기 조절에 관여하며, 염색체의 정확한 분리를 위해 필수적인 세린/트레오닌 단백질 키나아제입니다. 이 단백질은 주로 중심체(centrosome)에 위치하며, G1 단계에서는 거의 검출되지 않지만 S 단계에서 점차 증가하여 G2 후기 단계에서 최고 수준에 도달합니다.
NEK2 유전자는 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형체를 가지며, 각각 다른 C-말단을 갖는 다양한 이소폼을 생성합니다.
이 단백질은 Retinitis Pigmentosa 67 및 기타 망막색소변성증과 같은 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
