Description:
The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b (integrin alphaM, 165–170 kDa). CD11b associates with CD18 to form Mac-1 (alphaM-beta2 integrin) and binds to CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen. Expressed on macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and B-1 cells in the peritoneum. Cross-reactive with human CD11b, allowing detection in human monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cell subsets. CD11b participates in adhesive cell interactions.

Applications Reported:
Flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections.

Applications Tested:

• Flow cytometry: ≤ 0.06 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
• IHC (Frozen): ≤ 5 µg/mL.
  Not recommended for IHC of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue.
  Optimize dilution for best performance.

eFluor® 660 is an alternative to Alexa Fluor® 647.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) forms a complex with CD18 (integrin beta-2) to create Mac-1 or CR3. Expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia. Functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X. Plays key roles in cell adhesion and immune response regulation. CD11b expression varies by cell type and tissue, increasing during monocyte maturation. Associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related autoimmune susceptibility.
