S-Peptide epitope tag (S-Tag™)은 단백질의 위치 분석, 발현 검출, 정제 등 다양한 연구 응용에 사용됩니다. 15개의 아미노산으로 구성된 작은 크기와 항체 없이 태그된 단백질을 정제할 수 있는 장점이 있습니다. 또한 포유류 세포 내 내인성 반응이 거의 없어, 높은 특이성과 낮은 배경 신호를 제공합니다.
Epitope tagging은 클로닝된 유전자의 발현 단백질을 검출하고 정제하기 위한 강력하고 유연한 전략입니다. 발현 벡터는 일반적으로 태그 서열을 포함하도록 설계되며, 발현 후 융합 단백질 형태로 생성됩니다. 이후 태그에 특이적인 항체를 사용해 검출 및 정제가 가능하며, 각 단백질에 대한 별도의 항체 제작이 필요하지 않습니다.
